Steele Chambers has made it to the league.
After five seasons at Ohio State, Chambers did not hear his name called at the 2024 NFL draft. However, the former Ohio State linebacker will still have his chance to compete for a roster spot after signing with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent.

Chambers started his Ohio State career as a running back but moved to linebacker before the 2021 season. He was productive in his three years at the position, recording 189 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, five pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Chambers recorded a 33.5-inch vertical jump, 9-foot 3-inch broad jump, 4.23-second shuttle and 7.13-second three-cone drill. At Ohio State’s pro day, the 6-foot-1, 226-pound athlete added three inches to his broad jump (9’6”) and shaved off half a second from his shuttle (4.18). His three-cone drill remained at 7.13 seconds.
With experience on both sides of the ball and above-average athleticism at the linebacker position, Chambers hopes to be a versatile player for the team that selects him.
“I’m a good football player,” Chambers said at the combine. “I’ll do whatever is needed for the team.”
Chambers will look to prove that this offseason. As an undrafted free agent, the former Buckeye will have to compete for a roster spot this summer, with his first opportunities arriving in May during rookie minicamp and OTAs.
