The kickoff times and TV networks are set for Ohio State’s first two games of the 2024 football season.
The Buckeyes’ season opener against Akron will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. Their second game of the season will be a night game as their Week 2 matchup with Western Michigan will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network on Sept. 7.
The Big Ten also announced Thursday that Ohio State’s home against Nebraska on Oct. 26 will kick off at either noon, 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. The Buckeyes’ game at Wrigley Field against Northwestern on Nov. 16 will both kick off at either noon or 3:30. TV networks for those contests are to be determined.
Ohio State’s season finale against Michigan was set for a noon kickoff on FOX earlier this month. The rest of Ohio State’s games for the 2024 season will be subject to the in-season selection process.
Ohio State’s all-time record against Akron is 8-1 with the lone loss coming 130 years ago in 1894. Since then, the Buckeyes are 5-0 against the Zips, most recently drubbing Akron 59-7 in 2021. OSU hasn't lost to another team from Ohio since 1921 when it fell to Oberlin.
The Buckeyes won their only previous meeting with Western Michigan, 38-12, under the guidance of Urban Meyer in 2015.
Tickets for the Akron and Western Michigan matchups are available as part of a five-game flex pass for $289 that also includes tickets for Ohio State’s home games against Marshall, Purdue and Indiana in the Shoe. Single-game tickets for Ohio State’s eight home games will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. June 21.
