Ohio State football's season ticket sales reached their highest mark in at least 15 years ahead of 2024.

Not including student tickets, Ohio State sold 56,998 season tickets for the 2024 season, senior associate athletic director for ticketing and premium seating Brett Scarbrough told Joey Kaufman of The Columbus Dispatch on Thursday. The sales, which ended in June, surpassed the 56,484 non-student season ticket sales sold in 2022, a number that had been the Buckeyes' highest mark since at least 2009.

Ohio State has eight home games in 2024, including Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall, Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue, Indiana and Michigan. Excitement for those contests – as well as the team's road matchups with Michigan State, Oregon, Penn State and Northwestern – has been palpable this offseason, as the Buckeyes return 14 starters from 2023 and added Power 4 talents like Will Howard, Quinshon Judkins, Seth McLaughlin and Caleb Downs from the transfer portal.

Head coach Ryan Day also generated enthusiasm for the program with new staff hires this offseason including Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Carlos Locklyn as running backs coach, James Laurinaitis as linebackers coach and Matt Guerrieri as safeties coach.

Ohio State's season opener with Akron is on Aug. 31. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS.
