Ohio State's defense is on the scoreboard in Week 1 of its 2024 season.
Defensive tackle Hero Kanu met Akron quarterback Tahj Bullock at the line of scrimmage on a designed run. Bullock shook off the tackle attempt, but all it did was allow the rest of Ohio State's defense to swarm.
Defensive end Caden Curry decked Bullock from behind, popping the football from the redshirt junior's grasp. Safety Lathan Ransom scooped up the loose change and returned it 27 yards to the end zone, recording his first-career touchdown to put the Buckeyes up 31-3.
