TreVeyon Henderson crossed a massive career landmark with a 37-yard run in the second quarter of Ohio State's matchup with Michigan State.

The Buckeye running back became the 12th player in school history to rush for 3,000 yards with the team. Only Archie Griffin (5,589 yards) and J.K. Dobbins (4,459) have reached the 4,000-yard plateau.

Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins also reached 3,000 career rushing yards last week against Marshall, but 2,725 of them came at Ole Miss before his transfer to Columbus.

Henderson's career got off to a flaming start with a 1,248-yard rushing season and an Ohio State freshman record 19 total touchdowns in 2021. Injuries plagued his sophomore campaign, however, leaving him with just 571 yards in eight games as his yards per carry dipped from 6.8 to 5.3.

A bounceback junior campaign saw Henderson compile 926 yards on the ground at a rate of 5.9 yards per carry, despite the team's overall rushing struggles and another injury that cost him three games. The Virginia native had three games with at least 170 all-purpose yards.

Despite splitting carries with Judkins, 2024 has been a building of that momentum for Henderson. Entering Saturday's contest he had 207 yards in just 24 carries – 8.6 yards per attempt – and four touchdowns.

Henderson is tied for eighth in Ohio State history with 36 career rushing touchdowns.
