An adjustment to personnel cleared the way for Arvell Reese to start his first game at Ohio State on Saturday.
The Buckeyes opened in a 4-3 package against a heavy Michigan State front, swapping nickel Jordan Hancock out for Reese to start alongside Cody Simon and Sonny Styles at linebacker.
Reese started the season fourth in Ohio State's linebacker rotation behind Simon, Styles and C.J. Hicks but has steadily climbed to more playing time after picking up 12 tackles with two tackles for loss in the Buckeye's first three games.
Hancock rotated with Reese throughout the Buckeyes' opening defensive series against the Spartans, switching between the 4-3 and Ohio State's typical 4-2-5 look.
