While keeping Purdue's offense off the scoreboard on Saturday, Ohio State's defense decided to get on it.
The Boilermakers attempted an outside run to the left with Reggie Love III, only for Buckeye defensive end JT Tuimoloau to blow up the play deep in the backfield and punch the football free. Fellow defensive end Jack Sawyer scooped up the loose rock and rumbled 11 yards to the end zone for his first career touchdown.

It was the second scoop-and-score of the season for Ohio State's defense, which saw safety Lathan Ransom return a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown against Akron in Week 1. Ransom had Ohio State's other takeaway on Saturday, an interception in his own end zone.
Sawyer's score put the Buckeyes up 38-0 in the third quarter against Purdue. He's added five tackles and half a sack to the fumble recovery and end zone trip.
