A generous act by Ryan Day allowed Jim Lachey to continue his streak of calling every Ohio State game since 1997.
Lachey originally expected to miss Ohio State’s radio broadcast of The Game after attending his son’s Senior Day game at Iowa on Friday, but Ohio State’s head coach arranged a private flight for Lachey to get back to Columbus so he could be on the call for Ohio State vs. Michigan.
“Coach Day made an offer I couldn’t refuse,” Lachey told 97.1 The Fan’s Clay Hall.
JUST IN: The Streak lives for Jim Lachey who will call todays game. He was in Iowa City for his sons last game for the Hawkeyes & planned to miss The Game. What changed ? @971thefan pic.twitter.com/WgQMBzkKEd

Thanks to Day, Lachey will call his 358th consecutive Ohio State game on Saturday. He’ll do so after watching his son Luke Lachey, a tight end at Iowa, play his final home game as a Hawkeye on Friday. Iowa earned a dramatic 13-10 win over Nebraska on a 53-yard Drew Stevens field goal as time expired following a strip sack of Dylan Raiola with just 16 seconds to play.
The Game will be broadcast on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus and other radio stations throughout the state of Ohio while FOX will televise the game nationally beginning at noon.
