An Ohio State nonconference opponent is set as the Buckeyes are set to host North Carolina in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Thursday, Nov. 29.
The teams will be meeting for the ninth time overall with North Carolina holding the all-time series lead 5-3.
This will be the first time the teams have played since they met in the NCAA Tournament during the 2015 season when the Tar Heels bested the Buckeyes 86-84 behind a dominating performance from Stephanie Mavunga, who transferred to Ohio State the following season.
The teams face nearly opposite roster situations this year.
The Buckeyes were quite successful last season, finishing with a 28-7 overall record and winning both the Big Ten regular season and tournament championships, but must replace their top-six scorers and all five starters from last season.
The Tar Heals, meanwhile, have not made the postseason since the 2015 season, but return nearly their entire lineup as they graduated just one senior from the roster last season.
