Incoming Ohio State freshman Jaloni Cambridge added another accolade to her decorated senior season of high school basketball on Thursday, when MaxPreps has named her its National High School Basketball Player of the Year.

Last weekend, Cambridge led Montverde Academy to its third consecutive national championship. She averaged 23 points, 10.7 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals in Montverde's three victories in the national tournament.
Cambridge opened the tournament with a triple-double of 19 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in her team's quarterfinal win over Sidwell Friends. She followed it up with a 33-point, 11-assist performance in the semifinals, with two of those points coming from a buzzer-beater to beat Long Island Lutheran, 79-78. In the championship game, Cambridge had 17 points, nine assists and six rebounds as the Eagles defeated IMG Academy, 61-53.
The No. 3 overall recruit in the 2024 class, Cambridge averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Eagles this season. She scored 10 or more points in 26 of 27 games and surpassed 30 points five times. Cambridge also had 10 or more assists in 10 games and had three triple-doubles.
In addition to her recognition as the MaxPreps National High School Basketball Player of the Year, Cambridge has been named a McDonald's All-American, Naismith All-American and both the MaxPreps and Gatorade Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Year in 2023-24.
