We've been promising that we'd get Eleven Warriors film guru Kyle Jones back on Real Pod Wednesdays to answer some of your scheme questions and give us his insight on how Kerry Coombs would fit in with Ohio State's new defensive scheme and returning defensive coaches, so this week we delivered.
After a brief discussion on last week's Mickey Marotti press conference and some of our takeaways from that, Jones joins us for a 30-minute discussion on what Coombs could bring to Ohio State's 2020 defense, how the running game could change with Master Teague as the new starter, why Clemson was able to slow down Ohio State's offense in the second half of the Fiesta Bowl and finally, whether a hot dog is a sandwich.
Following that, Colin and I begin our pre-spring breakdowns of each Ohio State position group with a discussion on the Buckeyes' quarterbacks and running backs. Who will be Justin Fields' primary backup this season, and what will Ryan Day be looking for from new freshmen C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller? Who else do we expect to see playing time at running back aside from Teague? We cover all of that and more.
Finally, we wrap up the show by discussing the final installment of the Decade in Review series – Ohio State's top 20 individual athletes of the 2010s – and discuss what Ohio State men's basketball needs to do to remain above the bubble and secure an NCAA Tournament berth.
