Over the years, The Eleven Dubcast has proudly featured several special guests tied to Ohio State football — or so, Johnny tells me. Apparently Joe Burrow appeared on this show nearly a decade ago? We have not had a proper guest from beyond the walls of 11W since yours truly took over for Andy Vance last year, so let's change that this week by welcoming former Buckeye wide receiver Chris Fields to the pod!
And in the highly anticipated Eleven Dubcast video debut on YouTube, no less!
Fields graciously joins us to discuss the infamous 2012 Purdue game in which he scored a crucial touchdown to set up a game-tying two-point conversion and the current state of NIL in college football. We also talk to him about his upcoming Field House Fairway Fore Hope charity golf outing in June that features appearances from several OSU football alumni and coaches including Braxton Miller, Terry McLaurin, Ryan Day, Urban Meyer, Jim Tressel, and many more!
Additionally, the Dubcast discussion also covers:
-
So much to break down from the NFL Draft:
- Marvin Harrison Jr. heads to the Cardinals at #4, thankfully picked well ahead of J.J. McCarthy.
- Overall, this was an atypical draft by Buckeye standards. Any surprises among the former OSU players selected, or was the bigger surprise seeing so many projected late round picks become UDAs?
- Speaking of Michigan, they didn't quite have the earth-shattering amount of selections so many Wolverine loyalists wanted you to believe was coming. Ohio State still holds a higher mark for most picks in one draft!
- How did Johnny's Bengals do draft-wise, and how will George cope with the Bears' betrayal of Justin Fields in favor of Caleb Williams?
- The transfer portal is closing soon, has Jake Diebler made the most of it? Will any OSU quarterbacks jump in at the last moment?
- Congrats to men's tennis, volleyball, and the dance team!
- Ask Us Anything! — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as pasta preferences! As a proud Italian, Johnny has some strong opinions on this!
Thank you for tuning in, and make sure to follow the Dubcast on Twitter to stay updated on next week's and all future episodes! Swing by the 11W Dry Goods store in the meantime!
