For three decades the Big Ten has been one of the deepest in college basketball. Despite only one champion (2000 MSU), Big Ten teams have peppered the Final Four and NCG with appearances. Below from in chronological order are the Big Ten basketball teams to finish top 5 in the Final AP poll (which occurs before the dance), with each team's NCAA seed (non 1-seeds in italics).

(Our 2012 Final Four team finished 7th. Had they beaten MSU in the BTT, they would have been top5 and snagged the 1-seed, but ultimately MSU went 2-1 against us. The 2013 team finished a game behind IU and caught a 2-seed)
